ED (Emergency Postal Delivery) employees of the Postal Department staged an anti-discrimination protest demanding inclusion in the revenue sector. On Wednesday in the morning, more than 500 ED employees staged a peaceful protest and sit-in program in front of the Dak Bhaban located in Agargaon, the administrative center of the capital.

Under the banner of Bangladesh Anti-Discrimination ED Employees Alliance, branch post office employees from different parts of the country joined the rally holding different banners and festoons. They were chanting slogans like our movement is going on, there is no place for discrimination in Bangladesh of the 2024.

The protestors lined up on the sidewalk in front of the Dak Bhaban, but as there was no space, the tangle spread to the intersection of the Election Commission Bhaban. Meanwhile, the agitators said that they have been demanding six points for a long time, including inclusion in the revenue sector. The remaining 5 demands include—Abolition of ED system in postal department, inclusion in national pay scale, introduction of a uniform recruitment structure, construction of buildings in each post office and introduction of all services in branch post offices as well as divisional offices.
